Parks and people: innovative participation in public urban green space.

Following an award of a Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship in 2016, I travelled to Germany and North America to explore innovative participation in public urban green space.

My research focused on urban parks and green space in relation to public engagement through social arts practice, design and planning, urban farming and gardening; I visited projects in Berlin in June 2016, and Vancouver Canada and Portland US in September and October.

Artist and producer working across media and form, often making art with other people arising from context and place. Sue began collaborating as a teenager in a girl punk band, going on to work in live performance in the UK and internationally, including as a Lecturer at Dartington College of Arts in Devon. Commissions include work for festivals and non arts organisations. Sue also works in community and movement building around climate in her home town of Frome, Somerset, and as project lead for Future Shed Frome. Sue also convenes an experimental online Art Club with artist Joff Winterhart.
