Flowers, where is the garden
2013
A screen and print work created in response to Nori and Sandra Pope’s garden at Hadspen in Somerset, which closed in 2005. Mottisfont Abbey Artist Residency
2012
A series of digital shorts made during an artist residency at National Trust Mottisfont Abbey, Hampshire over the winter of 2011-12. Try this on – become something other with me
2011
Moving image document created after a live site based event at Inna Space micro festival in Taunton, 2011. Raiding the props and costume store at the Brewhouse Theatre, I filled the backstage Dressing Rooms with costumes and objects accumulated over years of productions staged at the theatre. I invited visitors to dress up with me, to create extraordinary outfits of unexpected combinations. Each costume collaboration ended with a photograph, and a momentary performance to passersby, at the backstage door.
Gladys – the farm and holy music
2009
A collaboration with animator and drawing artist Joff Winterhart, with Gladys Adams, resident of Venville House Care Home. This video was made as part of the Soundings project for Reach Devon in November 2009 in Princetown. We worked with Gladys over a few months, talking and making stories from her life. This video is an edit of a live drawing by Joff using iStopMotion.
John Cartwright plays the drums

I filmed two friends of mine playing the drumkit installed as part of the Angus Fairhurst art exhibition at Arnolfini in Bristol. John Cartwright and Joff Winterhart are my two favourite drummers. So I invited them to play. Here is John playing the drums. Exhibited at OSR Projects, Somerset.

Nox Lucere
2008
This short film was shot during a Moth Watch on the Neroche escarpment on the Blackdown Hills, with Somerset Butterfly & Moth Conservationists, Mike Ridge and Robin Clatworthy on 23rd August 2008. The camera looks north north-west over the M5 motorway down to Wellington. The list is the moths that have been identified on the Blackdown Hills between 1996 and 2008, and includes species that came into the mercury light traps that night in August. ‘Nox Lucere’ was made for the online art project Transience, and also screened in 2011 in Hestercombe, Somerset.
Animal – Homing
2008
A short film made at West Hatch Animal Rescue Centre (RSPCA) around a conversation with Anita Clark about pets who are rescued and re-homed. This film was part of a series of online works made for the online art project Transience, as an artist commission for Somerset Art Works / The Forestry Commission.
Horse – Story
2008
While doing some ‘deep mapping’ on the Blackdown Hills, I was struck by how much our relationship with horses is written into the landscape. Local historian Tom Mayberry told me about the Portman Estate near Taunton Racecourse: “at one time, you could ride between Taunton and London entirely on Portman estate owned land.” So I put my recording of Rosie the horse galloping over the Neroche landscape next to a video of me walking in Portman Square in London (previously home to the Jockey Club). There’s a whole other project…. This film was part of a series of online works made for the online art project Transience, as an artist commission for Somerset Art Works / The Forestry Commission.
